From the recording Go Country
Some relationships are not meant to be, in God’s eyes. Two young people seemingly in love and planning their life out as they grow together. Their plan is working, and they are in a great relationship, until things begin to get difficult. One or the other decides it is time to slow down, spend some time apart, and it often isn’t a mutual agreement. They drift apart and at some point, the relationship is finished, and they are set free. Free to learn, to live and love again.
Lyrics
There was once a time in my life when I had held you my love
And now and then I feel like I tried a little too hard my love
Is that why you, you set me free
Now I'm free to see whoever I please, but it's you girl who's got me on my knees
And I'm free to do whatever I may, but it's you girl who put love in my way
Ya, you girl who put love in my way when you set me free
There's only so much now I can take so wait til I call you love
For now I'll take a look at my life and hope I can love again
Now that you set me free
Now I'm free to see whoever I please, but it's you girl who's got me on my knees
And I'm free to do whatever I may, but it's you girl who put love in my way
Ya, you girl who put love in my way when you set me free
Now I'm sorry that I could not see it in your eyes, I'm sorry
And I'm sorry that I did not see it long ago, I'm sorry
And I'm wishing that I'd never fallin' in love with you, I'm sorry
That our love had to die, now I'll just sit and cry
Yes, I'll cry and cry all night, yes I'll cry and cry all night, all night, all night
Now I'm free to see whoever I please, but it's you girl who's got me on my knees
And I'm free to do whatever I may, but it's you girl who put love in my way
Ya, you girl who put love in my way
Ya, you girl who put love in my way when you set me free
